The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi started from September 19, its a 10 day long festival which starts with Ganesh Staphana and ends with Ganesh Visarjan. You can see the long queue of people in market place. With this time of year is filled with lots of festive goods in the market. Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated all over India with enthusiasm.

You can see lots of Ganesh pandals where Ganesh idols were established by the the samitis. People also brings Ganesh idols to their homes and offers prayers daily. As per the Hindu mythology Lord Ganesh is the first God to offer prayers before any event/Pujan. He is called 'Pratham Pujaya' in all Hindu Gods.

Devotees offers different special foods to Lord Ganesh from modak to puran poli in different regions of the country. During the festival time devotees also do fast and special pujan. 

It is important to offers bhog to Lord Ganesh for twice a day for the 10 days also the idol should not be moved from its place and should not be left unattended.
